Since this unit will be used in low light conditions, the dispaly should be much brighter.Otherwise, it seems to work fine.Ed I have used this once and already see a problem with it.The display has poor contrast making it difficult to read in low light conditioP3 International Kill A Watt EZ Electricity Usage Monitor P4460 + Libarator 14" Wirens. I had to use a flashlight to see the numbers and words.
I wanted to know how much these devices were using as I see them blinking or showing the time while not fully powered up. It didn't do so well finding the energy usage of appliances plugged in that were not in use like televisions and DVD's in standby mode. Overall I'm still pretty satisfied with the device for the price. I bought this device to see what different appliances were using in electricity. It seems accurate enough as read almost exactly what some appliances energy usage were labeled as.
I have had this product for awhile now and you would be amazed at how much electric you are wasting and how much it costs just to keep an item plugged in and not even use it. You know.
If you haven't already switched to CFL bulbs., YOU WILL. printers, chargers, copiers, scanners and the like.
If you want to save some money on your electric bill. Wait till you see what those power packs waste just by being plugged in all the time.

The price for this unit is pretty hefty, but the savings you get back from knowing what you are wasting, is well worth it.
He has used it to calculate usage costs and says it works very well for that too. It worked well for that.The monitor was highly recommended to me by my son, who is an electrical engineer. VW I've only used this monitor to check line voltage and amperage/wattage for a juicer we have, that was fluctuating in power too much. I mainly wanted to be able to watch and check the changing line voltage and amperage draw, to see where the problem lay as I operated the juicer.
They need to add a backlight to the display to make it more readable. I've enjoyed checking out appliances, computers, TVs, and radios to find out how much energy they're using. Great product. Provides detailed information about energy usage for plug-in 110v devices.
